CRT Building Products has been manufacturing building materials in Canberra since the 1950s and over this time has developed the reputation of being Canberra's leading supplier to the industry throughout the ACT and surrounding region.
With its origins from a group of tradesmen known in the industry as the 'Jennings Germans', the company started out in a small joinery shop manufacturing furniture (Canberra Furniture Manufactures), then quickly evolved to manufacturing modular kitchens (CFM Kitchens), roof trusses (Canberra Roof Trusses) and later, metal fascia and gutter (Canberra Metal Fascia).
A purpose built facility located in Mitchell ACT, with over 10000m2 of floor space was completed in 1990 and was fitted out with state of the art machinery for the more rapid, precise production of roof trusses, wallframes and floor systems together with metal fascia, gutter and roofing. Employing over 50 local people, ranging from design engineers to truck drivers and assemblers, CRT has complete control over ever step of its production process from initial consultation with the client through to the delivery on site and after sales service.
The continued updating and investment in the company through additional high technology machinery has seen the company not only continue to service its existing market but also develop into wider areas such as the Sydney / NSW highlands together with the NSW South Coast.CRT Building Products and Steeline Canberra prides itself on its attention to detail, customer service and unparalled product quality.
